I was just thinking.....

US of A was founded in 1789. They were a mess but they had a great leader, George Washington, who led them through the War for Independence and then became the 1st President of the United States.

Fast forward to 1860, 71 years later, America is again running into a mess. They needed to decide on the question of slavery. In 1860, 71 years after Washington, Americans elected Abraham Lincoln. He brought them through the Civil War and made sure America was a stronger nation.

Now, going to the future, 72 years later in 1932, Americans are facing the Great Depression. Again they found a solid leader in Franklin D. Roosevelt, who lead them through the Great Depression and through until the closing days of World War 2.

Imagine, 76 years after that, the world is facing its greatest economic crisis since the Great Depression. George W. Bush has left and Americans have elected Barack H. Obama. Will he be the one to lead Americans out of this darkness?

Just for a side note: Washington, Lincoln and Roosevelt have consistently being polled as the top 3 US Presidents. Will Obama one day be up there?
